Join us on the lush grounds of Evergreen Resort for an Aerial Rescue Workshop!

Disappointed you missed last year’s Aerial Rescue Workshop or looking forward to more practice and education? No problem, we are putting this workshop on the road and bringing it to Cadillac.

Lead by skilled and trained Arborists of the ISA Michigan Community, this hands-on workshop will train Arborists aloft and ground crews to improve their Aerial rescue procedures.

The assumption is that we perform our annual Aerial Rescue Training, and we are good. The reality is that we should be practicing scenarios at least quarterly and studying different scenarios. The structure will include instructors and a small group of attendees rotating through 4 scenarios aloft and 1 from the ground, modules will be approximately 60 minutes. This year the Pick-off scenario will be performed utilizing less gear intensive techniques and what we have on our saddles day-to-day. Gear inspection will be performed to make sure all climbing equipment and PPE are in serviceable condition.

Topics include Victim assessment, care, and packaging, self-rescue, assisted rescue, pick-offs, stop the bleed, spar rescue and ground controlled lowerable anchors. This course will be at height and hands on in the trees, attendees are expected to bring climbing gear and applicable PPE.
