Aerial Rescue

Limited to 25 people

(TCIA Manuals are an optional fee.)
Instructor: Lucas Drews, ISA Certified Arborist, Aerial Arboriculture and Tree Care

The most common reason for double fatalities in tree care is failed aerial rescue attempts. An emergency could develop any time one of your crews is aloft and your employees must know how to react. This program helps you protect your employees and meets the aerial rescue training requirements mandated by ANSI Z133.1 and OSHA. Aerial Rescue Training is a prerequisite for taking the ISA Tree Worker/Climber Certification test.

9:00am-4:00pm
Electrical Hazards Awareness Training (EHAP)

(TCIA Manuals are an optional fee.)
Instructor: John Ball, Ph.D., CTSP, Professor of Forestry, South Dakota State University

Are you aware that 15-20% of all tree worker fatalities are caused by electrocutions, and that all tree workers in the field have some exposure to electricity? Even a cable TV wire, street lamp circuit or phone line can generate enough electricity to be fatal. Although your company many not do line clearance tree work, all tree workers are exposed to potentially energized conductors throughout the season and must be trained to at least recognize and avoid this deadly hazard.

To prevent fatal accidents, we encourage all professionals involved in the pruning or removal of trees to participate in this formal and documented training. Learn to identify electrical system components, the presence and nature of electrical hazards, protective measurers available, and common unsafe acts to avoid.

Training topics will focus on practical knowledge and general awareness and will cover requirements for all arborists including the incidental line clearance and qualified line clearance arborists as well as those who only may have phone and cable line in their work environment.

EHAP must be used in combination with documented on-the-job skills training and verification to meet OSHA 1910.269 requirements.
